Effective immediately, we’ve revised our Windows Update Patch Policy. Windows patches are a critical part of systems security, as the bulk of the windows updates are released to patch security holes in the Windows operating system, or components, which can then be exploited. Additionally, a patch policy is required by many industries, and even by law in some instances (eg. HIPAA).

Patches will be approved once a month, at the beginning of the month (typically on the 1st).  The application days of patches will remain the same, systems being patched Wednesday thru Friday.

If there are any critical patches which should be immediately applied, we will approve those outside the scope of this schedule, and will post an announcement.

If you have any questions regarding this change in policy, please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss further.

Thank You,

Brian Shrift
